Objective: The main objective of this study was to identify the risk factor for anterior cruciate ligament injury presented by Ultimate Frisbee players through neuromuscular evaluation of the lower limbs. Design: Prospective cohort design study. Methods: Twenty-five female Ultimate Frisbee players (mean age ± SD 27.20 ± 3.69 years) were evaluated before and after a district Ultimate competition. The evaluation was carried out with the maximum isometric strength tests for hamstrings (IMF) and the kinetics of the countermovement jump (CMJ). Results: For the CMJ test, statistically significant changes were presented in jump height, eccentric force asymmetry, concentric impulse and maximum landing force asymmetry. Jump height presented higher values in the pre-competition stage compared to the post-competition stage (P = 0.041). In eccentric force asymmetry, the percentages increased in the post-competition stage in 5 athletes (pre-competition 1.07 ± 9.58, post-competition 6.59 ± 10.19 P = 0.05). In concentric impulse, the percentages decreased in the post-competition stage (pre-competition 124 ± 11.3, post-competition 120 ± 11.0 P = 0.005). While, in the asymmetry of the maximum landing force, the percentages of asymmetry showed a different direction between stages (pre-competitive -10.15 ± 14.62, postcompetitive 13.44 ± 15.55 P = 0.00). Where the non-dominant leg showed the highest results in the pre-competitive stage. While, in the post-competitive stage, the dominant leg was the one that showed the highest results. On the other hand, in the maximum isometric strength test of hamstrings, it presented statistically significant changes in the variables of maximum strength of the left leg (P = 0.010), strength at 150 (P = 0.034) and 200 ms (P = 0.028) of the right leg and the asymmetry of 100 ms (P = 0.033)For the CMJ test, statistically significant changes were presented in jump height, eccentric force asymmetry, concentric impulse and maximum landing force asymmetry. In concentric impulse, the percentages decreased in the post-competition stage (pre-competition 124 ± 11.3, postcompetition 120 ± 11.0 P = 0.005). While, in the asymmetry of the maximum landing force, the percentages of asymmetry showed a different direction between stages (pre-competitive -10.15 ± 14.62, post-competitive 13.44 ± 15.55 P = 0.00). Where the non-dominant leg showed the highest results in the pre-competitive stage. While, in the post-competitive stage, the dominant leg was the one that showed the highest results. On the other hand, in the maximum isometric strength test of hamstrings, it presented statistically significant changes in the variables of maximum strength of the left leg (P = 0.010), strength at 150 (P = 0.034) and 200 ms (P = 0.028) of the right leg and the asymmetry of 100 ms (P = 0.033) Conclusion: The risk factors for ACL injury in female Ultimate Frisbee players are associated with a significant increase in asymmetries in the rate of force development in the isometric maximum strength test and the CMJ landing force test following a competition.
