Description
Summary:The concepts of health and development, which are frequently used in the analysis of the relationships between them, are presented. Positive and negative determinations are considered from both sides. In the first case, health becomes a goal with a value by itself. In the second case health acts as a means which could in some ways influence development. On the other hand, the extent of the approaches of human capital and sustainable development are examined, in particular the latter because of the challenge it poses in respect to environmental preservation and its relationship to welfare.
