The central question involves exploring which factors are the ones that can make a party system to be more nationalized than another. The results of legislative elections celebrated between 1979 and 2006 are used here.A partir de la clasificación de los sistemas de partidos de Ecuador y Perú dentro del grupo de los menos nacionalizados de América Latina y Honduras como aquel que exhibe mayor nacionalización, el presente trabajo se propone dos objetivos. Primero, explora si ha habido cambios o continuidades respecto a dicho nivel de nacionalización. Segundo, identifica variables que puedan incidir sobre el mismo. El interrogante central consiste en explorar qué factores son los que pueden hacer que un sistema de partidos se encuentre más nacionalizado que otro.
