The present study arose from a research carried out in Bogotá's telecommunications sector, which was orientated towards describing and comparing motivational factors and their relationship to the organizational climate concerning employees from both a public and a private company. The results were analysed by comparing the means from different motivational factors and work climate dimensions regarding some demographic variables. These served as a point of comparison, contrast or affinity for describing and analysing both companies' work motivation and organisational climates. It was concluded that there were no significant differences regarding work climate and motivation of public and private company workers in the telecommunications sector, contrasting with the popular belief that there is relatively low commitment in state companies. There could be cultural and legal differences. |

There could be cultural and legal differences.L´étude présente qui est le résultat d´une investigation réalisée dans le secteur des télécommunications à Bogota se penche sur la description et la comparaison des facteurs de motivation et leur relation sur l´ambiance organisationnelle, chez des employés d´une entreprise publique et d´une autre privée. L´analyse des résultats a été réalisée sur la base d´une comparaison générale des moyennes des différents facteurs de motivation et de l´ampleur de l´ambiance de travail en relation avec quelques variables démographiques, qui ont servi de point de comparaison, de contraste ou d´affinité pour décrire et analyser la motivation au travail et l´ambiance organisationnelle des deux entreprises. Les conclusions de cette investigation montrent qu´ils n´existe pas de différences significatives en ce qui concerne l´ambiance et la motivation au travail parmi les employés d´une entreprise publique et d´une autre privée dans le secteur des télécommunications à l´encontre de la croyance populaire de l´existence d´un engagement relativement faible dans les entreprise de l´État. Il peut exister des différences au niveau culturel, légal et juridique.O presente estudo, produto de una investigação realizada no setor das telecomunicações em Bogotá está orientado a descrever e comparar os fatores motivacionais e sua relação com o clima organizacional, nos empregados duma empresa pública e uma privada. A análise de resultados se realizou com base em um comparativo geral de médias dos diferentes fatores motivacionais e as dimensões do clima de trabalho em relação a algumas variáveis demográficas, que serviram de ponto de comparação, contraste ou afinidade para descrever e analisar a motivação no trabalho e o clima organizacional das duas empresas. A partir desta investigação conclui-se que não existem diferenças significativas quanto ao clima e à motivação no trabalho entre os empregados duma empresa pública e uma privada no setor das telecomunicações contra a crença popular sobre a existência dum compromisso relativamente baixo nas empresas do estado. As diferenças podem existir nos aspectos cultural e jurídico.El presente estudio, producto de una investigación realizada en el sector de las telecomunicaciones en Bogotá, se orienta a describir y comparar los factores motivacionales y su relación con el clima organizacional, en empleados de una empresa pública y una privada. El análisis de resultados se realizó con base en un comparativo general de promedios de los diferentes factores motivacionales y de las dimensiones del clima laboral en relación con algunas variables demográficas que sirvieron de punto de comparación, contraste o afinidad para describir y analizar la motivación laboral y el clima organizacional de las dos empresas. De esta investigación se concluye que no existen diferencias significativas en cuanto al clima y la motivación laboral entre los empleados de una empresa pública y una privada en el sector de las telecomunicaciones, contra la creencia popular de la existencia de un compromiso relativamente bajo en las empresas del Estado.
