Solubility of acetaminophen in poliol-alcohol-water system

Acetaminophen solubility was determined to 20.0 ± 0.5°C in solvent mixtures: Purified Water – Alcohol USP – Propylene glycol USP, as well as in the solvent mixture Purified Water – Alcohol USP – Polyethylene glycol 200 NF, establishing the lines of isosolubility that go to define the composi...

Description
Summary:Acetaminophen solubility was determined to 20.0 ± 0.5°C in solvent mixtures: Purified Water – Alcohol USP – Propylene glycol USP, as well as in the solvent mixture Purified Water – Alcohol USP – Polyethylene glycol 200 NF, establishing the lines of isosolubility that go to define the composition regions of the solvent mixtures in study more probable for the design in a homogenity liquid form of Acetaminophen in each one of the studied systems. It was found that the addition of the Polyethylene glycol 200 to hydroalcoholic mix does not affect of meaningful way the solubility of the Acetaminophen, if the binary relations are appropiate, depending the quantity of polyol added; while upon adding Propylene glycol USP, the solubilities obtained for the hidroalcoholic mixtures are seen reduced.
