This research seeks to integrate into the discourse of the circular economy approach a crucial actor for sustainable development, the social sector or non-profit sector, which is considered an important means that promotes the participation of citizens in associative activities and in civic, social and environmental issues to offer powerfully positive solutions for the political and social life of nations. However, there are gaps in the circular economy literature on this sector largely due to the neglect of the biodiverse ecosystem of the organizations that comprise it; focusing overwhelmingly on the state and business sector, so that social sector organizations also known as non-profit organizations (NPO), have presented challenges to integrate into circular commerce. In this sense, the circularity approach is proposed for NPO in relation to the theoretical vision of resources, competences and dynamic capacities, as a way to improve their management for a transition towards sustainability, perspectives that are framed as a solution for them to reduce to the maximum the use of their resources and surpluses through a restorative or regenerative system, and also as a way to take an innovative path towards sustainability in terms of eco-efficiency and eco-innovation to increase the productivity of their pre-existing technologies in the development of their meritorious activity. For this reason, a theoretical model is proposed between the vision of resources, competences and dynamic capacities with the principles of the circular economy and its contribution is evaluated in terms of the development of the meritorious activity of the NPO, but those that, in the case of Colombia, are qualified in the Special Tax Regime (STR) and are located in the geographical area of the Coffee Axis. For the validity of the model, a sample of 180 entities is empirically evaluated and measured by means of the Partial Least Squares Structural Equations Modeling method (PLS-SEM), which allows evaluating the explanatory and predictive power taking into account the level of statistical significance. The results allow concluding that the model assesses the effect between the latent and observable variables, which together lead to understand how the NPO qualified in the STR can focus on the effectiveness of the circulating system, reflected in the implementation of a proactive environmental management or in an efficient management of resources, there being a direct and positive relationship between the constructs. The contributions of the research are aimed at complementing the theoretical corpus on the conceptual relationship between the vision of the theory of resources, competences and dynamic capabilities with the circular economy approach, and therefore, guidelines for a sustainable management system are proposed from the theoretical model validated in the development of dynamic capabilities for the transition to a circulating economy of the NPO qualified in the STR.DoctoradoDoctor en AdministraciónLa presente investigación se inspira desde estrategia de integración de metodología mixta, que permite tener una visión más completa, más matizada y compleja del fenómeno a comprender, para desarrollar un proceso analítico y crítico con respecto a los diversos componentes.
