Description
Summary:To understand the interface, which is linking the city with telecommunication and information technologies (TICs), implies to establish a theory framework to generate a deep reflection around it. This article try to explain how is possible to link these two concepts, emphasizing in aspects of history context: (i) the actual question about the crisis of urban discipline and (ii) the emerging technology utopia, which is a essential feature of globalization. The first one is related to traditional urbanism discourse and is explained by the reflection around contemporary city like extension of industrial city; whereas the second one is inserted in a cross-cutting debate involving not only the city but society as a whole, where TICs are shaping a new kind of human interaction: less physic and more virtual.
