Summary:This paper proposes a new methodology aimed at characterizing and studying two key geological elements for the sustainable and ethical development of society: geological resources and geological risks. The main objective is to broaden concepts and therefore, to facilitate the development of geological studies and the establishment of guidelines that fit better with the social situation of our environment, as well as with territorial management and risk prevention.
