One of the factors that have been detected in the face of these competitiveness problems has been the lack of technology that supports their business processes and leverages decision making, this largely originated by the limited budgets they have and the perception of needing large investments when acquiring information systems. This paper explored and compared the traditional infrastructure, Cloud Computing and Grid Computing, based on the factors that should be considered to conduct a study of the total cost of ownership to determine which options may be viable for Bogota's SMEs in the textile sector. Likewise, six interviews were made to SMEs of the textile sector in Bogota to contrast the information systems, their investment in technology, type of infrastructure and the way they manage technology-related costs in such a way that they could be compared against the factors investigated in the literature. According to the research carried out, the differentials that were found in terms of expense attributes between On premise infrastructure, Grid and Cloud Computing, are mostly part of investment expenses where the attributes that must be taken into account for the infrastructure are more numerous. On premise and the Grid compared to Cloud Computing, due to these investment expenses, SMEs tend to direct their decisions towards Cloud technology.Las Pymes representan un sector relevante en la economía de Colombia, sin embargo, su falta de competitividad ha hecho que el nivel de éxito de estas se vea reducido. Uno de los factores que se han detectado de cara a estos problemas de competitividad ha sido la falta de tecnología que soporta sus procesos de negocio y apalancan la toma de decisiones, esto originado en gran parte por los presupuestos limitados que se tienen y a la percepción de necesitar inversiones grandes al momento de adquirir tecnologías de información. En este trabajo se examinaron y se compararon la infraestructura física (On premise), el Cloud Computing y el Grid Computing, tomando como base los factores que se deben tener en cuenta de cara a realizar un estudio del costo total de propiedad con el fin de explorar qué opciones pueden ser viables para las Pymes bogotanas del sector textil. De igual manera se realizaron entrevistas a seis Pymes del sector textil de Bogotá con el fin de contrastar su inversión en tecnología, tipo de infraestructura y la forma como administran los costos relacionados con tecnología de forma tal que se pudiera comparar contra los factores encontrados en la literatura. De acuerdo con la investigación realizada los diferenciales que se encontraron en cuanto a atributos de gastos entre infraestructura física, Grid y Cloud Computing en su mayoría hacen parte de los gastos de inversión donde son más numerosos los atributos que se deben tener en cuenta para la infraestructura física y el Grid comparando con el Cloud Computing, debido a estos gastos de inversión las Pymes suelen direccionar sus decisiones hacía la tecnología Cloud.
