Description
Summary:In order to evaluate solar ultraviolet radiation, a criterion to characterize it is presented here; such criterion was applied to the case of solar ultraviolet radiation in Bogotá and it consisted in evaluating and analyzing the daily relation between irradiances from several lines of ultraviolet A zone radiation to the irradiances of several lines of ultraviolet B zone radiation. The behavior of this relation was evaluated every day at noon and compared with the ozone layer behavior during the term from August-2010 to July-2011. It was found that if the relation increases, that is to say, when solar ultraviolet B decreases, so the ozone layer increases. This criterion suggests that with a good knowledge of the interactions among atmospheric contaminants and ultraviolet radiations A and B it is useful element in air analysis, due that total ozone column in sites like Colombia presents a very stable history behavior.
