(Texto tomado de la fuente)The Toronto region in Canada is one of the fastest growing regions in North America. It is also the main gateway city for immigration and the economic and financial center of the country. The region has been studied by numerous researchers, but due to the rapidity and magnitude of its growth requires constant monitoring. This research aims to interpret urban growth in the Toronto region through population and dwellings between 2011 and 2016. A qualitative method is used to analyze key variables: natural population growth, immigration, migration, dwellings, dwelling types, residential density and population density. Data is extracted from the 2011 and 2016 censuses by Statistics Canada and is then described and analyzed in multiple scales, including its spatial distribution. It was found that during the study period the region experienced population and dwelling growth, although dwellings grew at a much faster phase. A decrease in natural population growth, an increased importance of international migration, population loss through domestic migration and increased density were also found. In addition, a zone-based analysis indicates that the regional periphery is the fastest changing zone in the region.MaestríaMagíster en Estudios Urbano - RegionalesMaterialidad urbana y procesos de transformación físico-espacialesÁrea Curricular de Arquitectura y Urbanismoxii, 140 páginasapplication/pdfspaUniversidad Nacional de ColombiaMedellín - Arquitectura - Maestría en Estudios Urbano - RegionalesFacultad de ArquitecturaUniversidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Medellín900 - Geografía e historia710 - Planificación del área y arquitectura del paisaje::711 - Área de planificación (arte cívico)300 - Ciencias sociales::303 - Procesos socialesCiudades y Pueblos - Toronto (Canadá)Población urbana - Toronto (Canadá)Dresarrollo urbano - Toronto (Canadá)Urban population - Toronto (Canadá)Cities and towns - Growth - Toronto (Canadá)Cities and towns - Toronto (Canadá)Crecimiento urbanoRegión de TorontoPoblaciónViviendaUrban growthToronto regionPopulationDwellingsCrecimiento urbano en la región de Toronto entre el 2011 y el 2016: población y viviendaUrban growth in the Toronto region between 2011 and 2016: population and dwellingsTrabajo de grado - Maestríainfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersionTexthttp://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/TMToronto, CanadáRedColLaReferenciaAburas, M.
