That gave arguments that dispute the actual apology regarding the advisability of using them as substitutes for fossil fuels.Mediante relaciones estequiométricas entre productos y reactivos en las ecuaciones de reacción balanceadas y considerando el calor de combustión de seis compuestos puros, usados en primera aproximación como representativos de gas, alcohol, gas licuado de petróleo (GLP), gasolina, diésel y biodiésel, se demostró que, a diferencia de otros combustibles, los biocombustibles, alcohol y biodiésel, en sus combustiones producen mayor contaminación ambiental, generan menos energía por unidad de masa y consumen menos oxígeno.
