The module aims to raise awareness of the role played by basic science in daily life and its expected rapid development in the XXI century in what we call Nanoscience. The fundamental issue is the entropy as an inexorable law of nature and on which have been made multiple attempts trying to overcome it. Maxwell invented a famous demon and Feynman proposed his well known rachet that could be interpreted as a demon, but it is not. The concept of disorder as an explanation of the increase of entropy can be used to understand how biological machines and propose nanoengines artificial or nanorobots. This module ends with an evaluation with the purpose of guiding and adapting the module to a wider audience and extend it to high school classes.Un módulo del diplomado sobre Proyectos de Investigación que ofrece la ACAC titulado Ciencias Básicas tiene por objeto ubicar y enfatizar la importancia de estas ciencias en cualquier proyecto de investigación. El objetivo del módulo es crear conciencia del papel que juegan las ciencias básicas en la vida diaria y su esperado rápido desarrollo en el siglo XXI en lo que llamamos Nanociencia. El tema fundamental es la entropía como una ley inexorable de la naturaleza y sobre la cual se han hecho múltiples intentos para tratar de obviarla. Maxwell inventó el famoso Demonio y Feynman propuso su conocida matraca que pudiera interpretarse como un demonio, pero no lo es. El concepto del desorden como explicación del aumento de entropía puede usarse para entender el funcionamiento de las máquinas biológicas y proponer nanomotores artificiales o nanorobots.
