description Objetivo: Describir los resultados clínicos en términos de mejoría objetiva y subjetiva y las complicaciones de la cistouretropexia transobturadora o cistouretropexia retropúbica realizada para la corrección de incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo (IUE) femenina. Metodología: Estudio de serie de casos, en pacientes femeninas mayores de 18 años con diagnóstico de IUE por clínica y/o confirmada por urodinamia, llevadas a cirugía de corrección incontinencia de esfuerzo, con cualquiera de las dos técnicas cistouretropexia con cinta mediouretral transobturadora [TOT] o cistouretropexia con cinta mediouretral retropúbica [TVT]), en el Hospital Universitario Nacional de Colombia en el periodo de tiempo comprendido entre el 1o. de enero de 2017 y el 31 de diciembre de 2021. Se realizó una revisión de historias clínicas, se clasificaron las pacientes como IUE complicada y no complicada según estándares internacionalmente aceptados y se aplicaron posteriormente el test de Sandvik y la Escala de Impresión global de Mejora del Paciente (PGI-I). Se presenta un análisis estadístico descriptivo. Resultados: Se incluyeron 261 pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. La mediana de edad fue de 53 años, la IUE fue del 60.07%, IU mixta del 38.95% y de urgencia del 4.9%. Se practicaron en estas pacientes un 70.5% de cirugías para la colocacion de cinta TOT y un 29.5% de cirugías para colocación de TVT. Se obtuvo una tasa de mejoría global del 91.27%, con tasas de cura objetiva del 38% y de mejoría objetiva del 52.4%. La frecuencia relativa de complicaciones fue del 19.16%. La principal complicación fue la infección urinaria. La mayoría de complicaciones se presentó en el grupo de TOT (70.5%). Conclusiones: La población tratada en la Unidad de Uroginecología del Hospital Universitario Nacional de Colombia es clasificada como incontinencia urinaria complicada (90%). La intervención más frecuente fue la cirugía tipo TOT. Las tasas de cura subjetiva y objetiva fueron similares a las obtenidas por otros grupos de cirugía uroginecológica; sin embargo, el carácter descriptivo del presente estudio obliga a plantear estudios prospectivos con el fin de plantear protocolos de tratamiento acordes con las condiciones propias de la región. Se obtuvo una tasa de mejoría global del 91.27%, con tasas de cura objetiva del 38% y de mejoría objetiva del 52.4%. La frecuencia relativa de complicaciones fue del 19.16%. La principal complicación fue la infección urinaria. La mayoría de complicaciones se presentó en el grupo de TOT (70.5%). Conclusiones: La población tratada en la Unidad de Uroginecología del Hospital Universitario Nacional de Colombia es clasificada como incontinencia urinaria complicada (90%). La intervención más frecuente fue la cirugía tipo TOT. Las tasas de cura subjetiva y objetiva fueron similares a las obtenidas por otros grupos de cirugía uroginecológica; sin embargo, el carácter descriptivo del presente estudio obliga a plantear estudios prospectivos con el fin de plantear protocolos de tratamiento acordes con las condiciones propias de la región. (Texto tomado de la fuente)Objective: To describe the clinical results in terms of objective and subjective improvement and complications of transobturator cystourethropexy or retropubic cystourethropexy performed for the correction of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methodology: Case series study, in female patient solder than 18 years with a diagnosis of SUI by clinical and/or confirmed by urodynamics, taken to stress incontinence correction surgery, with either of the two techniques cystourethropexy with transobturator mediourethral tape [TOT]or cystourethropexy with retropubic mediourethral tape[TVT]), at the National University Hospital of Colombia in the period of time between 1o. January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2021. A review of medical records was performed, patients were classified as complicated and uncomplicated SUI according to internationally accepted standards, and the Sandvik test and the Patient Global Impression of Improvement Scale (PGI-I) were subsequently applied. A descriptive statistical analysis is presented. Results: 261 patients who met the inclusion criteria were included. The median age was 53 years, SU I was 60.07%, mixed UTI was 38.95% and emergency UTI was 4.9%.These patients under went 70.5 percent age of surgeries for TOT tape placement and 29.5% of surgeries for TVT placement. An overall improvement rate of 91.27% was obtained; with an objective cure rate of 38%andanobjective improvement rate of 52.4%.Therelative frequency of complications was 19.16%.
