Such politicization has been backed in an ad hoc reinterpretation of the founding statutes, allowing wide institutional intervention in diverse affairs previously considered strictly political. By proceeding this way, the bank has clearly broken the intended technical character featured since its foundation in the second post war.En este artículo se sostiene que como producto de la agenda de gobernanza adoptada por el Banco Mundial a comienzos de los noventa, éste ha asumido expresamente una politización de su mandato entendida como la legitimación de una mayor intervención en la reforma del rol económico y político de los estados prestamistas. Ésta se ha sustentado en una reinterpretación ad hoc de los artículos de la carta constitutiva que permite una intervención amplia del organismo en diversos asuntos antes considerados estrictamente políticos.
