Summary:Background: Predict the mesiodistal size of the teeth that havenot yet erupted it is an important part of the diagnosis andtreatment during the mixed dentition stage. The analysis of mixeddentition of Moyers it is the most commonly used for the diagnosisof malocclusions. Objective: The objective of this research is toevaluate the analysis of mixed dentition Moyer's without division ofgender, and if not be effective to carry out the settings to be usedin the population of Nayarit. Materials and methods: The research isdescriptive, transversal and non-experimental. The universe of studywas 912 models and sample of 506 models that met the inclusioncriteria. We used a digital gauge brand Mitutoyo, data were tabulatedand statistics took place in the program SPSS version 18. Descriptivestatistics was calculated and the results were compared withStudent's t test. Results: T he analysis of Moyers is not e ffective foruse in Nayarit, the 75th percentile can only be used in the mandible,the adjustment of Moyers analysis for the population of Nayarit waseffective to the 50 percentile, with the 75th percentile is not effectivefor predicting the size of canines and premolars. Conclusions: Theanalysis of Moyers is not effective for use in the population of Nayarit.The adjustment to the 50 percentile is effective for predict themesiodistal size of canines and premolars of Nayarit.
