AnexosEspecializaciónTotal hip replacement or also called total hip arthroplasty is a surgical procedure in which the anatomical components that make up the hip joint are replaced due to pathologies in which the normal anatomy is lost or altered, causing intense pain and impairment. of the quality of life, due to metallic elements, ceramics, polymers among others, which attempt to restore coxofemoral functionality. The main causal indications for total hip replacement are osteoarthritis (which accounted for 90% of procedures in the UK in 2017), fracture of the neck of the femur (5%), avascular necrosis (2%), dysplasia (2% ) and inflammatory arthritis. (1%). Hip osteoarthritis has multifactorial causes, with biological and mechanical components dictated by genetic and environmental factors. This study aims to know which factors and interventions improve the perception of patients in the postoperative period, as well as the satisfaction and improvement in quality of life after the surgical management of total hip replacement in patients operated on by the group of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Foscal and Foscal International Clinic. 1.2 Methodology Retrospective cohort study. Secondary analysis of an anonymized database of the orthopedic service that includes patients with coxofemoral joint pathologies who underwent primary total hip replacement with cemented or cementless prosthesis at the Foscal and Foscal international clinic during the study period. June 2020 to December 2022. The anonymized database that has been maintained since 2020 was used for the study, where sociodemographic data, diagnosis for which the surgery was carried out, characteristics of the prosthesis, anthropometric measurements were taken. of patients, early and late complications, level of satisfaction measured with scales, which was completed at the time of surgery for subsequent statistical analysis.
