El cielo era siempre de un azul profundo, barrido por brisas frescas y dulces. Las casas, todas de un solo piso, se apretaban apoyándose las unas en las otras...”It is impossible to approach the literature of this author without first having read the history that sustained him as a man, as a thinker and writer. From his own voice we learned that his parents belonged to an honorable family from Santander. Oiba, was therefore, according to Vargas Osorio, “a town located in a small valley, through which, diaphanous and cheerful, copying clouds and shadows of trees, the river ran jumping between the white stones like rams. The sky was always a deep blue, swept by cool, sweet breezes.
