El pasado 31 de Marzo, ocho estudiantes del Instituto Caldas salieron con el propósito de representar a su colegio en el 5to Simposio Nacional de Juventudes, realizado en el Columbus School de Medellín. El sueño se fue cumpliendo poco a poco, cuando llegamos al Hotel Intercontinental y conocimos a personas de diferentes culturas, religiones, razas y partes del país. En el segundo día del simposio conocimos a María Emma Mejía, a quien tuve el privilegio de entrevistar. María Emma Mejía ha sido Ministra de Educación y de Relaciones Exteriores, así como candidata a la Alcaldía de Bogotá y candidata a la Vicepresidencia de Colombia. Entre otras cosas, me contó acerca de su vida. Que había estudiado en Pinares, que tenía un hijo, que había conocido a Galán y que como casi todos los muchachos de su generación había querido cambiar al país. Estuvo de acuerdo con la propuesta de reelección del Presidente Alvaro Uribe, pues aclaró que era más lógico que alguien tuviera un periodo de 8 años para gobernar, siempre y cuando esta reelección fuera producto de una elección popular y no parlamentaria. |

The dream came true little by little, when we arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel and met people from different cultures, religions, races and parts of the country. On the second day of the symposium we met María Emma Mejía, whom I had the privilege of interviewing. María Emma Mejía has been Minister of Education and Foreign Relations, as well as a candidate for Mayor of Bogotá and a candidate for the Vice Presidency of Colombia. Among other things, she told me about her life.
