El presente trabajo busca identificar las Condiciones de Posibilidad que ocurrieron en Estados Unidos durante el periodo histórico denominado de Higiene Mental ocurridas entre 1880 y 1920, que generaron el cambio epistemológico que permitió el surgimiento de la Salud Mental comunitaria con énfasis en su aspecto positivo, sirviendo de base para el surgimiento de posteriores movimientos de Salud Mental Comunitaria en 1955, y de Soporte Comunitario en 1975, que sustentan la forma actual de entender la Salud Mental. La investigación es una aproximación histórico-epistemológica a la transformación del concepto de Salud Mental en la época, cuyo análisis se realiza a partir de las categorías epistemológicas Condición de Posibilidad y Estilo de Pensamiento, propuestas por Ludwik Fleck, el énfasis en la filiación de conceptos de Georges Canguillhem y los supuestos de su historia epistemológica, y las categorías de Campo y Capital Simbólico de Pierre Bordieu. A lo largo de los cuatro capítulos del texto, se realiza una descripción de algunos de los acontecimientos históricos y científicos más representativos que enmarcaron el periodo de Higiene Mental, identificando cuáles de ellos generaron cambios en el estilo de pensamiento en Salud Mental y realizando un análisis de cómo esos cambios sirvieron de Condiciones de Posibilidad para llegar a la conceptualización de la Salud Mental Comunitaria. |

The research is a historical-epistemological approach to the transformation of the concept of Mental Health at the time, whose analysis is carried out from the epistemological categories Condition of Possibility and Style of Thought, proposed by Ludwik Fleck, the emphasis on the affiliation of concepts of Georges Canguillhem and the assumptions of his epistemological history, and the categories of Field and Symbolic Capital of Pierre Bordieu.
