El síndrome de apnea-hipopnea obstructiva del sueño (SAHOS) es un trastorno del sueño caracterizado por el estrechamiento de la vía aérea superior que se produce durante el sueño(1), la cual se ha encontrado asociada con el aumento del riesgo cardiovascular como consecuencia de múltiples factores secundarios a la hipoxemia generada durante los periodos de apnea. Este estudio observacional, analítico de corte transversal se propone con el objetivo de identificar el perfil de riesgo cardiovascular (PRC) en los pacientes con SAHOS, esperando encontrar un aumento del PRC que se relacione con la severidad del SAHOS para crear estrategias educativas, realizar prevención, promoción y un adecuado abordaje terapéutico con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida y reducir la morbimortalidad por enfermedad cardiovascular (ECV) en estos pacientes. |
