“Reaching Dreams” is an artistic proposal that develops from the lecture of a children book as it is “Alice in Wonderland”
the admiration and desire to elevate woman from a personal interpretation of the artist
where it propose throughout the plastics and design of some furniture present in scenes of the story Alice in Wonderland
and a comparison is done under the manipulation of scales
between two epochs of achievements of woman en the Victorian era and the contemporary one. At the same time
makes known a symbiotic relationship between the material artwork and the concept part it contains. Explorations of diverse materials were made
as well as of structures
designs
furniture style
concepts
and size by the criteria of the two epochs
as they are triplex wood
the furniture present
appropriation
and scale. In this process sketches
pencil and marker drawings
and miniatures were made. The artwork shows a path that begins with the selection and lecture of the children story Alice in Wonderland
walking through two stages of development until reaching a conceptual interpretation form a personal point of view about woman in two distinct times that shows different model societies. But at the same time
the analog interpretation of an event of the story is a root element of the work. Bibliographic researches were carried on the web and films
making apropriations of furniture
objects
and devising an original intervention of them. The placement of this work of art not only allows the spectator to evoke Alice in Wonderland story
but also to feel part of what it expresses.
