Ad Libitum
Odocoileus Virginianus Goudotti.
This study pretends to identify the existence and type of relation between the vocalization emitted by the white tailed deers (Odocoileus virginianus goudotti) of the Natural National Park Chingaza and their behavior; hereby establishing patterns of animal conduct supported by their emitted sounds. For this purpose
observations ad Iibitum were realized joined by records via a continuous sound register and their associated behavior in predetermined periods of two minutes for three month in four sampling areas within the sector of Monterredondo. The spectrograms allowed the classification of the different collected sounds via the frequency
duration and form quantification; with this results the associations with the described conducts from the ethogram were determined -acoustic patterns and their similarity analysis allowed to conclude
that some sounds can be emitted to evidence something more than a behavior type
as it is the case with Umh (in courtship
dominance and persecution) and Fuush (in alert and agonistic); in both genders similar sounds are possible. Likewise
was determinated that in both genders can be emitted the same vocalization how did it happen with Umh
Resoplo
Fu and Llanto
despite the exclusivity other sounds like Bufido that only is present on female. The determination of ages by Bioacoustics catalog was verified by variation total time of sound.
