Thus, studied transactions suggest the predominance of a person's business, the relative superiority masculine, the distinguished negotiation of slaves in productive and reproductive ages, the supremacy of the afro-half-caste in the local salver market, thus so, the introduction of black slave manpower since the provinces of the North of the New Granada and West of Venezuela mainly. Keywords: Slave population, ages, genre, slavery market, generation origin, land ways of the slavery.La propuesta central de este artículo consiste en analizar las compraventas de esclavos correspondientes a la villa de San Gil y su jurisdicción durante la transición del siglo XVII al XVIII, con el fin de identificar los elementos demográficos más importantes de la población esclava. Así pues, las transacciones estudiadas sugieren el predomino de negocios de un individuo, la relativa superioridad masculina, la destacada negociación de esclavos en edades productivas y reproductivas, la supremacía de los afromestizos en el mercado esclavista local, así como la introducción de mano de obra negra esclava, fundamentalmente, desde las provincias del norte de la Nueva Granada y occidente de Venezuela.
