based on the understanding of the dynamics own field of knowledge of the arts. In order to recognize the factors that contribute to the inclination of teachers of music research activities was used a methodology of quantitative-qualitative

a questionnaire was drawn up and a semistructured interview script. The information and analysis presented below are part of the ongoing investigation "Analysis of incentives for academic production of the musicians university professors" approved by the Vice-Rector for Research and Extension of the Industrial University of Santander
developed by research groups "A Tempo" from the School of Arts and Studies in Applied Microeconomics and Regulation "EMAR" School of Economics and Management.

Dada esta problemática, surge la necesidad de indagar por los factores que conducen a los profesores universitarios de música a la actividad investigativa, partiendo de la comprensión de las dinámicas propias del campo de conocimiento de las artes. Con el fin de reconocer los factores que contribuyen a la inclinación de los docentes de música por las actividades de investigación se recurrió a una metodología de corte cuantitativocualitativo, para lo cual, en el marco del proyecto macro, se elaboró un cuestionario y un guion de entrevista semiestructurada.
