El ritual del velorio en la comunidad de San Antonio, departamento de Sucre, como objeto semiótico Esta investigación se centra en el análisis semiótico del ritual del velorio en la comunidadde San Antonio, población ubicada en el Departamento de Sucre, Colombia. Por medio deeste estudio, se pretende analizar el sentido que emerge y sus operaciones de construcción en la articulación de la dimensión espacial y temporal de este ritual. El texto hace un acercamiento al problema de la investigación, sus objetivos y su justificación, para lo que se alude a la descripción geográfica e histórica del lugar donde se llevó a cabo la investigación y las características de sus habitantes. Luego, se exponen los niveles de análisis de los datos obtenidos y se hacen aproximaciones a su organización y a su codificación, teniendo en cuenta la caracterización y funcionalidad del ritual de velación. También, se presentan los recursos de orden teórico empleados para la interpretación del sentido del ritual y una relación entre la semiótica general, la semiótica del discurso y algunas disciplinas que convergen con este tipo de estudios. Finalmente, se muestra y se propone a manera de conclusión los desafíos o retos de este tipo investigación y los problemas por resolver desde la perspectiva semiótica.Palabras clave: Semiótica, ritual, velorio, novenario, San Antonio, duelo.The ritual of wake in the community of San Antonio, Departamento de Sucre, as a semiotic objectThis study revolves around the semotic analysis of the ritual of wake in the community ofSan Antonio, in the Departamento de Sucre, Colombia. Through this study, it is aimed toanalyze the arising sense and its construction operations in the articulation of the spatialand the temporal dimensions of this ritual. The text approaches the problem of research, its objectives and justifications, making mention of the geographical and historical descriptions of the place where the study took place, as well as the characteristics of its inhabitants. Later, the levels of analysis of the collected data are presented, and there is approximation to their organization and coding, taking into account the characterization and functionality of the ritual of wake. Additionally, there is presentation of the theoretical resources employed in the interpretation of the sense of the ritual and a relationship between general semiotics, discourse semiotics, and some disciplines that converge in this type of study. Finally, as a conclusion, there is the presentation and proposal of the challenges of this type of research and the problems to solve from the semiotic perspective.Keywords: Semotics, ritual, wake, novenario, San Antonio, grief.
