Currently
the growing consumption of chicken meat causes the increased of waste in the poultry industry
prompting the search for alternative uses to mitigate the negative environmental impact caused by these. This project's main objective was to put chicken residual oil for several industrial applications
initially measuring some physical and chemical properties of the oil characterized by a high level of acidity. In order to obtain a raw material better quality
it was seek to reduce the acidity through a pretreatment phase
this involved the integration of two processes: degumming and acid esterification
the best reaction conditions were found by applying design Central rotatable with running experiments each with 20 replicates compound having as response variable the acid and second selection criterion
the yield to oil pretreated compared degummed. Subsequently
a preliminary assessment of the use of this oil conditioning in the biodiesel was made
the best conditions for the transesterification reaction were found using the simplex method
with the response variable amount of methyl-ester produced (FAME) and monitoring the yield of biodiesel was compared to pretreated oil. Measurement of some physicochemical properties was performed and compared to the standard 5444. NTC
this product meets their requirements in terms of viscosity
level of acidity
density
but not %FAME was 91
9% with a yield of 85
2% on the pretreated oil.
