Por tal razón, se analizaron 12 muestras escritas en inglés como segunda lengua pertenecientes a 6 hispanohablantes. Dicho análisis se llevo a cabo en términos tanto léxico-sintácticos como interlinguales empleando un procedimiento de Análisis de Error. Se tomaron 6 muestras escritas en dos periodos de tiempo distintos. El objetivo final de este estudio fue el análisis de los textos y la ulterior identificación de aquellas áreas especificas de influencia del español como primera lengua en la escritura del inglés como segunda. Se encontraron y analizaron un total de 532 errores haciendo uso de categorías descriptivas y psicolinguísticas. Los resultados mostraron que un gran número de errores interlinguales ocurrieron en las categorías sintácticas de preposiciones, adjetivos, sustantivos y pronombres además de la categoría léxica, lo que sugiere potenciales áreas de dificultad en el proceso de escritura de segunda lengua. Los hallazgos de este estudio parecen confirmar conclusiones de investigaciones previas a cerca de los efectos de transferencia del español como primera lengua al escribir en inglés, particularmente con respecto al estilo indirecto y digresivo del español. Este estudio de investigación también enfatiza la importancia de integrar la Retórica Contrastiva en las aulas de segunda lengua y además hace énfasis en la utilidad de llevar a cabo procedimientos de Análisis de Error como medios para explorar y alcanzar conclusiones en términos de variación textual y discursiva entre distintas lenguas, y como consecuencia, entre distintas tradiciones retóricas.

For this sake, 12 pieces of writing in English-as-an-L2 from six Spanish L1 students were analyzed in lexico-syntactic as well as interlingual terms using an Error Analysis procedure. These language samples were taken in two different periods of time; thus, the analyses were divided into two cross-sections of six language samples each one. The final outcome of this study was stated to be the analysis of the texts and the ulterior finding of those specific areas of Spanish L1 influence on English L2 writing. A total of 532 errors were found and analyzed using descriptive and psycholinguistic categories. The results appeared to show that a great number of interlingual errors were found in the syntactic categories of prepositions, adjectives and nouns and in the lexical category suggesting potential areas of difficulty in the Second Language writing process. The findings also seem to confirm previous previous research conclusions about Spanish L1 transfer effects when writing in English, particularly, with regards to the digressive and indirect Spanish style.
