Valentía

Este es un proyecto artístico cuyo planteamiento surge de la necesidad de subsanar un poco el dolor causado por el asesinato de mi padre GABRIEL BALLESTEROS, y la desaparición forzada de amigos, como consecuencia del conflicto interno que vive nuestro país. Las familias que afrontamos esta problemática permanecemos sumergidas en la incertidumbre de no saber ¿por qué? sucedieron hechos macabros con nuestros seres queridos. En 1998 fui testigo de ese conflicto interno armado que se desarrollaba en nuestro país Colombia, a causa de los enfrentamientos de grupos al margen de la ley por el dominio territorial, igualmente al poco tiempo fui víctima directa, con el asesinato de mi padre, siendo él una víctima más de las muchas personas inocentes que han caído en esta guerra. VALENTÍA es el resultado de la necesidad de subsanar el dolor y el vacío generado por la ausencia de nuestros seres queridos, arrebatos por la violencia, y la relación de mi experiencia personal, con el uso de un elemento cotidiano en la vida de mi padre, la atarraya, descontextualizándola, para generar de forma poética ,una instalación artística donde se representan recuerdos de momentos buenos y malos compartidos con estas personas en vida, y llevándolos de una forma metafórica a la plástica teniendo en cuenta el color y la materialidad del producto utilizado. Transformando el dolor, angustia, incertidumbre, impotencia, de esas noches en los recuerdos, sueños, metas y proyectos que aún tenían por cumplir, siento, que de esta manera doy un respiro profundo más, para calmar mis sentimientos que aun que ha pasado tanto tiempo no desvanecen de mi mente.

Families who face these problems remain immersed in the uncertainty of not knowing the reason why; macabre events happened with our loved ones. In 1998 I witnessed the internal armed conflict that took place in our country Colombia; because of the fighting in groups outside the law for territorial control; equally soon I was a direct victim; with the murder of my father; being he a victim of many innocent people who have fallen in this war. COURAGE is the result of the need to amend the pain and the vacuum created by the absence of our loved ones; outbursts of violence; and the relationship of my personal experience with using an everyday element in the life of my father; cast net; de-contextualising to generate poetic form; an art installation where good times and bad memories are represented and shared with these people in life; and taking them into a metaphorical way to the plastic having into account the color and materiality of the product used. Transforming the pain; anguish; uncertainty; powerlessness; of those nights memories; dreams; goals and projects that had yet to meet; I feel that in this way I take a deep breath again; to soothe my feelings that even it's been so long; it does not fade from my mind.
