La intención es explicar cuáles fueron las condiciones sociales y condiciones de posibilidad que cambiaron y consolidaron sus trayectorias de vida e integración social entre los diferentes sectores de la población. La metodología utilizada, es recurso biográfico expuesto por Gilberto Loaiza1 y complementado con el enfoque desarrollista de Norbert Elías2. Se concluye que la narrativa que se ha tejido sobre estos deportistas y sus éxitos son vistos como nuevas formas de construcción de región.

The objective of this article is to construct a history of the social ascent of Afro-Colombian athletes from Tumaco in the period 1980-2010. The intention is to explain what were the social conditions and conditions of possibility that changed and consolidated their life trajectories and social integration among the different sectors of the population. The methodology used is the biographical resource presented by Gilberto Loaiza and complemented with the developmentalist approach of Norbert Elías.
