Using the Matlab® GUIDE tool, the very interactive GUI allows user input to change the link lengths, for example, through both numerical input from the mouse and variations with the computer mouse. It also lets the user to know the output values of any point along any element in the mechanism. Trying to enrich the technical vocabulary of the users, the original Spanish version of the GUI can be easily changed to English. Surveys of preliminary versions of the GUI were taken into account towards the GUI final version. Results were compared against similar limited softwares and documented cases. This is an undergraduate research project that pretends to spark the students’ interest in developing educational software as a business opportunity based on a future Android application.Se presentan los fundamentos teóricos para la creación de una interfaz gráfica útil en la enseñanza de la cinemática de los mecanismos planos de cuatro barras con cuatro juntas de revoluta. La interfaz se desarrolló en GUIDE de Matlab®, brindando una interactividad que permite modificación de parámetros por entrada numérica desde el teclado, por variación de longitudes de eslabones con el mouse, y determinación de valores de salida en cualquier punto de cualquier eslabón. Permite también la versión en inglés para ayudar al estudiante a mejorar su vocabulario profesional. Se tomó en cuenta la opinión de los estudiantes de la asignatura relacionada mediante toma de encuestas en las versiones preliminares. Los resultados fueron comparados contra otros autores y versiones limitadas de programas similares. Este proyecto fue desarrollado por estudiantes de pregrado de Ing.
