The study focused not only in determine the main parameters and design components of a Rainwater System Collection
order to replace the use of potable water in activities that do not require a high safety degree of the water
such as flushing toilets and washing clothes
but also perform works and tasks necessary for the setting up and operation of the system. This implied
the determination of effective catchment areas
determining the net expected monthly rainfall and record consumption of drinking water for the uses to be supplied
and carry out implementation activities
such as the adequacy of surfaces and protection of rainfall gutters
downspouts to intercept and construction of interceptors of first flux
and location and excavation of cisterns. Also a pumping and feeding system was implemented. Finally
it was determined the potential saving level of potable water
according to a expected rainfall range between 50 - 75% of probability
and the spacial availability for catchment and storage areas
on the habitational unit.
