Based on the investigation by interviews, this article presents an analysis of the actual state of the productive sector of the north-east part of Colombia, with respect to the handling and interpretation of concepts associated with the Metrology like quality, measurements, quality control, calibration, accreditation of laboratories, traceability,  certification, etc.Para el nororiente colombiano es de vital importancia tener un indicador de la forma como la producción, el comercio, la academia y la investigación, están realizando sus mediciones, con el fin de formular estrategias y políticas que le permita a las empresas del sector productivo optimizar el desempeño de sus funciones, conocer las fortalezas y debilidades respecto a la calibración de instrumentos e implementar los proyectos necesarios para desarrollar sus procesos adecuados al uso de los elementos que introduce la Metrología.
