In order to achieve the above objective, we will carry out a historical parallel of those cases in which this means of proof was not applied and, consequently, erroneous conclusions were reached. Finally, we will point out that the effectiveness of the methods of DNA detection also depends on the rigorousness with which the auxiliary of justice applies the chain of custody and mitigates the risks of the alteration of its results"El objetivo de la presente investigación es establecer la importancia de la ""genética forense"" y el avance en los métodos de detección de ADN para lograr la identificación contundente del victimario en la comisión de delitos contra la libertad sexual y de esta forma establecer un nexo entre este y la víctima, lo que en últimas se traduce en una adecuada administración de justicia en Colombia. Para lograr el anterior objetivo realizaremos un paralelo histórico de aquellos casos en los cuales no se aplicó dicho medio probatorio y, por ende, se llegó a conclusiones erróneas.
