This becomes an obstacle for the differential diagnosis if this viruses and for the filogenetic analysis among them. In this review, we want to present some of the information which has been published recently on genomic, clinic and serological comparisons among the agents of this viral group, with special emphasis on BHV-1. The data presented are compatible with our hypothesis that IBR strains circulating in Colombia may be less virulent. |

The data presented are compatible with our hypothesis that IBR strains circulating in Colombia may be less virulent.RESUMEN: A pesar de que se tiene la secuencia genómica completa del HVB-1 (prototipo de estudio de los Alfaherpersvirus de rumiantes), hasta el momento, las relaciones entre los Alfaherpesvirus han sido pobremente caracterizadas. En este artículo, queremos revisar algunos trabajos que han comparado desde el punto de vista estructural y de secuencia, los ácidos nucleicos de este grupo de virus. También analizamos, algunos estudios sobre patogénesis, haciendo referencia especial al HVB-1, con énfasis en la descripción de variantes de este agente con diferentes grados de virulencia.
