RESUMEN: Este estudio se desarrolló en un currículo de medicina, en Medellín, Colombia. Se buscaba relacionar los significados sobre bioética que surgían en la orientación pedagógica con los producidos entre estudiantes y profesores. Se hizo una triangulación metodológica, a saber: análisis de los documentos de la fundamentación curricular, encuesta representativa a los estudiantes y entrevistas y grupos focales. Los resultados permiten concluir que el principal problema de la bioética en el currículo está en la disociación entre la importancia discursiva que se le otorga a la formación en ese campo y el desarrollo de la práctica curricular. La tríada paciente - estudiante - profesor proyectada a la familia y la comunidad, emerge como fundamento del currículo, en tanto sujetos protagónicos de sus vidas, orientados a desarrollar su capacidad de agencia; así se posibilita superar la marginalidad del paciente y la comunidad cuando se los considera solo como objetos de estudio en el currículo. |

Its goal was to correlate the meanings about bioethics that emerged in the educational guidance with those produced among students and professors. A methodological triangulation was used, namely: analysis of the curriculum foundation documents; a representative survey to students, and interviews and focal groups. Results revealed that the main problem of bioethics in the curriculum is the dissociation between the discursive emphasis ascribed to the training in that field, and its development in the curricular practice. The triad patient –student – professor, projected to the family and the community, emerged as the foundation of the curriculum inasmuch as they are the protagonic agents of their lives.
