Summary:ABSTRACT: In this paper, the results of a qualitative-approach and explorative research are exposed. This research had as objective to recognize the perception, living and landscape appropriation forms by farmers and fishermen located in the western of Mompox Hollow (Colombian Caribe), in order to be likely to bring closer to the way people construct the territory. In this paper, not only a revision of some theoretical contributions related to the landscape and territory perception, but also the perceptions and livings of Paso Carate´s (San Marcos town- Sucre) inhabitants have, product of their daily interactions with an unflooding environment, as well as the affective components that facilitate the relation between human being and environment.
