This article, based on updated literature proposes a model that integrates known cellular and molecular interactions and pinpoints some steps still requiring further research. |

This article, based on updated literature proposes a model that integrates known cellular and molecular interactions and pinpoints some steps still requiring further research.RESUMEN: En los últimos años se ha hecho un inmenso progreso en el entendimiento de los mecanismos moleculares involucrados en la maduración del gameto masculino y su tránsito desde la gónada hasta la fertilización del oocito. A lo largo de este trayecto el espermatozoide modifica su morfología y sus componentes moleculares especialmente, y además ocurren procesos que conducen a la activación para la entrada al oocito, para activar a su vez los mecanismos que conducen a la formación del zigoto.
