Summary:ABSTRACT: In the context of Latin American literary criticism, the neo-indigenism category designates the works that meet a number of special features: depiction of Native worldviews, lyrical intensification, broad understanding of the Indian problem and enrichment of the narrative resources. Although this paradigm has been established some decades ago, it has been marginally used in the study of Colombian novel, to the point of suggesting the absence of such literature. However, careful examination of a novel recently published called “Finales para Aluna” (Finals for Aluna) (2013) by writer Selnich Vivas Hurtado from Bogotá, shows that the country has what is needed for that kind of critical applications and that kind of novels, in fact, it manages to be representative of the Latin American neo-indigenist current.
