El mismo día del muestreo se recolectó información sobre factores individuales de los animales (raza, edad, lote de producción, y número de partos) con la cual se efectuó análisis de la asociación entre los factores individuales estudiados y la seropositividad a MAP por medio de la prueba de Chi cuadrado y la prueba de Fisher. La seroprevalencia aparente a MAP del hato fue del 17%. La exploración de factores individuales o de animal asociados a los resultados de ELISA, arrojó asociación estadística significativa entre la seropositividad a MAP y la raza. La seroprevalencia de MAP se ha incrementado en los últimos años en el hato, lo que puede relacionarse con la ausencia de un programa de control.

An observational analytic cross-sectional study was performed in which all cattle over two years of age (n=83) in the herd was sampled for blood in order to obtain serum, which was analyzed by indirect ELISA in October 2014. On the same day of the sampling, individual factors data (breed, age, production lot, and parity) were collected, and an association between the individual factors studied and MAP-seropositivity was analyzed using Pearson Chi square test and Fisher test. The apparent MAP seroprevalence in the herd was 17%. The exploration of individual or animal factors associated with ELISA results yielded a statistical significant association between MAP seropositivity and the breed.
