Age and weight at the beggining of mating, service period, pregnancy rate, age at first and second calving, open days and first calcing interval were significantly affected by weight at 18 months of age. Age and weight of heifers at mating, age at first and second calving and open days were predicted via adjusted weaning weight and weight at 18 months of age.

Age and weight of heifers at mating, age at first and second calving and open days were predicted via adjusted weaning weight and weight at 18 months of age.RESUMEN: La información reproductiva de 350 novillas cebú (Bos indicus) de un hato localizado en las sabanas del departamento de Córdoba (Colombia), correspondiente a una zona de bosque húmedo tropical (bh-T), fue analizada siguiendo los procedimientos GLM, LSD y regresión retrospectiva de SAS 10, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del peso al destete, el peso a los 18 meses y la edad y el peso de ingreso al apareamiento sobre su comportamiento reproductivo futuro. El peso a los 18 meses de edad afectó significativamente la edad y peso al apareamiento, el período de servicio, la tasa de preñez, la edad al primero y segundo parto, los días abiertos y el primer intervalo entre partos.
