Recorreremos los conceptos, las definiciones y las interpretaciones que nos ayuden a entender por qué, a la luz del desarrollo sostenible, el ordenamiento ambiental territorial aparece como una herramienta adecuada para atender la problemática ambiental y, cómo su gestión prospectiva, se convierte en una estrategia ideal para diagnosticarla, planificarla, transformarla y evaluarla, ya que obliga a tomar decisiones sobre materias que afectan no sólo el escenario económico de la sociedad, sino también a sus esferas natural y social. |

In this article we will analyze this complexity as obstacle for the search of appropriate strategies to reach the sustainable development, widespread purpose of the contemporary society.
