Description
Summary:ABSTRACT: The survival rate of patients with homograft implants in the aortic position was analized using data collected between 1989 and 1996 from the primary medical records of theses cases from the Clínica Santa María de Medellín. It was found that the survival of the valve is less each year and the survival rate of patients was 53.6% by the eight year. However, there is no certainty that the cause of death was the valve failure. More studies should be conducted to estimate their real life span of the valve and factors that contribute to this deterioration.
