Summary: | ABSTRACT: To describe dynamics in nutrition and feeding into the school from the point of view from students, teachers and parents. Methodology: a qualitative study was realized in the School 'Tomas Carrasquilla’ in the city of Medellin, Colombia. Participants were: 29 students, 12 teachers and 16 mothers; different qualitative interviews were development. Results: This research found that in a poor environment and with a strong social violence, different life strategies are developed to face alimentary situation into the family and school's ambits. Students, according to their nutritional status, assume their bodies as an instrument that contributes to inclusion or exclusion in socialization processes. Parents, teachers and students assume malnutrition as a diseases with clear signs and symptoms that must be faced into the family as well as into the school. Conclusion: Feeding patterns in the family determine the nutritional status and feeding behaviour from children, influencing their physical and mental health. |
