RESUMEN: objetivo: determinar las características del sistema venoso superficial de miembros inferiores en pacientes con lipedema, atendidos en un centro especializado en el periodo comprendido entre 2020 y 2022 Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, basado en registros y recolección manual de datos, con el objetivo de determinar las características del sistema venoso superficial de miembros inferiores en pacientes con lipedema, atendidos en un laboratorio vascular de referencia, en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia Resultados: se incluyeron 63 pacientes, con un promedio de edad de 53 años, el 100% del sexo femenino. 49 pacientes (77.8%) fueron clasificados como C1, 11 (17.5%) C2 y 3 (4.8%) C3, según la clasificación de la insuficiencia venosa de CEAP. El diámetro promedio de las safenas, fue: mayor derecha 4.12 mm en el muslo y 2.94 mm en la pierna, safena mayor izquierda 4.27 mm en el muslo y 3.02 mm en la pierna, a su vez la safena menor derecha e izquierda presentaron diámetro de 2.56 mm y 2.75 mm respectivamente. El grosor del tejido subcutáneo en la pierna derecha en pacientes con lipedema de las pantorrillas fue de 13,6 +/- 4,7 mm y en la pierna izquierda 14,2 +/- 3,6 mm. Conclusión: las pacientes con lipedema están con mayor frecuencia en el estado C1 de la clasificación de CEAP. Los diámetros del sistema venoso superficial en promedio se encuentran en valores normales. En el estudio no encontramos pacientes con enfermedad venosa en estadios avanzados. |

Desing: observational, descriptive, retrospective study based on records and manual data collection, with the aim of determining the characteristics of the superficial venous system of the lower limbs in patients with lipedema, treated in a reference vascular laboratory, in the City of Medellin, Colombia. Results: 63 patients were included, with an average age of 53 years, of which 100% corresponded to female gender, 49 patients (77.8%) were classified as C1, 11 (17.5%) C2 and 3 (4.8%) C3, based on CEAP classification. The average diameter of the right great saphenous vein was 4.12 mm in the thigh and 2.94 mm in the leg, the left great saphenous vein was 4.27 mm in the thigh and 3.02 mm in the leg, while the right and left small saphenous veins presented a diameter of 2.56 mm and 2.75 mm, respectively. The thickness of the subcutaneous tissue in the right leg in patients with calf involvement was 13,6 +/- 4,7 mm and in the left leg it was 14,2 +/- 3,6 mm.
