Discourse analysis was used as a method to compile a bibliographic review which would lead to gathering and analyzing diverse and sufficient Latin American materials to fulfill the main purpose of this study: to evaluate the current state of production on the basis of professional intervention in social work. For this purpose, academic outreach material was defined as a written production published in books and journal articles, collecting results of thematic reflections, research reports, specialized dictionaries, edited memories of international seminars and conferences. |

For this purpose, academic outreach material was defined as a written production published in books and journal articles, collecting results of thematic reflections, research reports, specialized dictionaries, edited memories of international seminars and conferences.RESUMEN: En este artículo se presenta la ruta metodológica construida para la realización de la investigación Estado del arte sobre la fundamentación teórica y metodológica de la intervención profesional en Trabajo Social y la conceptualización de experiencias en el Departamento de Antioquia, periodo 1998- 2008, realizado en cuatro países latinoamericanos (Argentina, Chile, Brasil y Colombia). El método utilizado es el análisis del discurso mediante el cual se estructuró un corpus bibliográfico, que conllevó el hecho de reunir y analizar material latinoamericano diverso y suficiente que posibilitara el cumplimiento del propósito central del estudio: estructurar el estado actual de la producción en la fundamentación de la intervención profesional en trabajo social.
