Objetivo. Analizar la evolución del tratamiento a vacas con quistes foliculares. Materiales y métodos. Las vacas fueron tratadas con GnRH a doble dosis y a los 14 días PGF2α. Si persistió el quiste se repitió dos veces más el tratamiento. Análisis estadístico. Los datos fueron analizados utilizando el software SAS con un Anova, considerando como significativos todos los datos con un p<0,05. Resultados. Se encontró una frecuencia de presentación de quistes en posparto tardío de 8,9 %; el porcentaje de vacas que resolvieron el problema al primer tratamiento fue de 74,1 %, con un promedio de 87,3 días de diagnóstico posparto, al segundo 10,5% con 141,8 días promedio y 3,5 % al tercero con 189,3 días al diagnóstico; el porcentaje de vacas descartadas fue de 11,8 %. Conclusiones. Este análisis retrospectivo de cinco hatos lecheros, demuestra que se presentan con relativa frecuencia quistes foliculares en el posparto tardío, pero se pueden solucionar efectivamente si se diagnostican en los primeros 90 días, además el tratamiento realizado después de detectado el quiste folicular entre 80-90 días posparto, es efectivo para resolver el 74,12% de los casos, con una tasa de preñez del 70,5%. |

Reproduction data were retrospectively in a period of about 18 months, in five dairy herds from San Pedro de los Milagros, Antioquia, with a population of 950 cows. Objective. To nalyze the treatment ́s evolution in cows with follicular cysts. Methodology. The cows were treated with a double dose of GnRH and PGF2α after 14 days. If the cyst persisted, the treatment was performed again, twice. Statistic analysis. The data were analyzed by the use of the SAS software with an Anova, considering all the data with p<0,05 as significant. Results. A 8,9% frequency of cysts in late postpartum occurren- ce was found. The percentage of cows that had this problem solved after the first treatment was 74,1%, with an average of 87,3% days of postpartum diagnose; The second 10,5%, with an average of 141,8 days and 3,5%; The third, with 189,3 days after the diagnose. The percentage of discarded cows was 11,8%. Conclusions. This retrospective analysis in five dairy herds shows that follicular cysts appear with a relative frequency in late postpartum, but they can be effectively cured if diagnosed during the first 90 days.
