Description
Summary:ABSTRACT: Despite the acknowledgement of a link between Anthropology and Literature, lasting at least three centuries, such a link, as an field of study for Anthropologists, remains under the perspective that the subject matter is the understanding of the influence of rhetoric in the Science of Man. Independent of it, all along the Latin American literary history there has been traditional an autonomous effort on bhealf of the writers, from their written work, to understand and give form to man and regional culture, which proves the existence of a Latin American “Anthropology from Literature” older than academic Anthropology itself. This paper proposes a panoramic assess of some outstanding milestones of such a literary manifestation.
