El pandillaje constituye un problema que hace parte de la realidad de los habitantes de este municipio, que afecta la sana convivencia, pero además no cuenta con medidas de prevención por parte del gobierno local para la mitigación de dicho fenómeno. Partiendo del interrogante sobre si las pandillas podrían o no tener relación con la violencia urbana, mediante el uso de instrumentos de investigación cualitativa como las entrevistas y la revisión documental, encontramos que si bien es un factor decisivo no es totalizador, en tanto en la conformación de las pandillas intervienen factores como la apropiación del espacio territorial, la amistad, la venganza, la defensa personal, el status y el reconocimiento. |

It aimed to approach the gangs from their social reality in the municipality of Apartadó from 2000 to 2020. The youth gang is a problem that is part of the reality of the inhabitants of this municipality, which affects the healthy coexistence, but also has no prevention measures by the local government to mitigate this phenomenon.
