Summary: | The purpose of this work was to create an Ecological Spot to separate and classify the waste discarded by the students of the University of Córdoba in the municipality of Sahagún; It also seeks to promote an environmental culture among students. The project was developed using the ML5.JS library; which provides models and learning algorithms; that allow the creation of intelligent machine learning systems to recognize objects (Shiffman, 2019). An object recognition system was developed through the K-Nearest Neitghbor algorithm to separate and classify the waste. In the construction of the Ecological Spot, different electronic devices were used such as: Raspberry pi, servo motors, Arduino board, web camera, LCD screen, among others. Finally, the interaction of all these devices was achieved so that the recognition system could classify waste such as plastic, chip bags, paper and paperboard/cardboard. |
